In the Eyes on the Prize video I was very moved by the power and impact of Emmett Till's death. I was saddened when I learned that Emmett Till's murders were not prosecuted or punished in anyway. The atrocity that they committed confirmed my understanding of how bad things used to be only a few years ago. However, the way that the death inspired so many people restored my faith in the will power of many people, and the hope that can be created and maintained in the face of so much struggle and pain. It was beautiful to see the power of the bus boycott and how only changing a small part of your daily routine can create everlasting change. The strength that Emmett Till inspired in people awed me and awoke great respect for every person who fought in the civil rights movement.
