Clinton Gaining Popularity Among Millennials
This article focuses on Hillary Clinton’s relationship with the millennial Voting base, and why some millennials still won’t vote for her. Most millennials wanted Bernie Sanders to be President, because this is a very liberal generation. When he lost the nomination, a lot of young people said that they were “Bernie or Bust”, or that they would be voting for a third party candidate like Jill Stein. A lot of young voters don’t understand that a vote that isn’t for Hillary is essentially a vote for Trump at this point, because we cannot let Trump become the leader of the free world. This relates to things we’re talking about in AP Gov when we talk about voices and whose voice is being heard or ignored. The author of this article argues that while it's good that Clinton is gaining momentum among millennial voters, who are about 20% of the voting population, the actual problem is getting people to go out and vote. Lots of people are saying that they won't vote because they have to go with their conscience. Do you think going with your conscience is a better option than voting for someone you don't fully support, even if that means helping Donald Trump into the White House?
